A native of Norfolk, John is managing partner in the Norfolk McGuire Woods law firm. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia and Washington & Lee School of Law, where he wrote for the Law Review.
President of the Norfolk Rotary Club in 2011-2012, John is a graduate of RLI and a Paul Harris Society member. He has been an Area Governor and chair of the District Foundation Grants Committee. He also has served leadership role in a number of other community organizations and has been recognized as one of the best corporate and transportation lawyers in the Commonwealth of Virginia. His clients and projects have included salvage of the Titanic wreck site and sale of the luxury liner SS United States.
John has received various leadership awards, including the Julien Hirst Leadership Award from the Chamber of Commerce, the Order of the Red Triangle from the YMCA and the Virginia Community College Award for Service as a Board member.
He and his wife, Lee Ann, have two sons and live in Norfolk.
